Citations occur when your business' name, address, and phone number (NAP) are listed online. Citations can include other information like email addresses, business hours or driving directions, but the most important is your NAP.

Citations happen both on and off your site. On-site citations can be a contact us page, unique location pages and the footer of your website. Off-site citations happen on other peoples websites or blogs.

Listings are when your business is added to an online list like Yelp, Foursquare, or an industry specific list. You can claim many of these listings and manage them yourself, keeping your NAP accurate.
